I am a Storyteller First, and a Steadicam Operator Second:
Like a lot of people in the film industry, I started early. I played around with a polaroid camera that my parents had and was mesmerized by freezing time with a click of a button. As time passed, I realized not only was the camera able to freeze time, but it was also able to tell stories. This is when my passion to use the camera as a storyteller began.
Operating a Steadicam is my way of helping Directors and DP's tell their stories on screen. Being able to float the camera freely in any terrain no matter the situation has become a great passion and obsession of mine. I pride myself on making sure that the shot works for the story first. Steadicam to me is about being able to collaborate with talented individuals to help drive a story forward with great camera work.
I have had the privilege of shadowing incredible steadicam/camera operators and have spent extensive time over the course of multiple seasons on the sets of Sons of Anarchy, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Justified and NFL Films. Learning from these great storytellers and experiences has enabled me to bring a higher level of professionalism to the projects I work on, and I will bring that to your set.
